Overview statement: We know that when women are included in public office, countries experience higher standards of living with positive developments in health, education, infrastructure, and the environment. Strong evidence also shows that women have a greater propensity to develop, pass, implement, and uphold laws that further specific development, environmental, and humanitarian outcomes, and that they are central to securing and maintaining peace, and strengthening democracy.
The Best Leadership In Today's Crisis
The Covid-19 Pandemic has provided a real-time opportunity to understand the critical importance and consequences of good leadership decisions in a high-stakes situation. Despite making up only seven percent of heads of state, the leaders who most successfully handled the pandemic are predominantly women. From New Zealand to Iceland, to Germany and Finland, the female leaders of these countries have implemented clear, thorough, and well-executed shutdowns and social distance plans, flattened the curve, controlled and prevented new cases.

A message from our founder, Thea Garland
Obama Ipsum: But for all those who scratched and clawed their way to get a piece of the American Dream, there were many who didn’t make it – those who were ultimately defeated, in one way or another, by discrimination. We were founded upon the ideal that all are created equal, and we have shed blood and struggled for centuries to give meaning to those words – within our borders, and around the world. Denying that fact is baseless, ignorant, and hateful. I know there is debate about this issue. Meanwhile, the struggle for women’s equality continues in many aspects of American life, and in countries around the world.
